Williams has made correcting the low-speed cornering weakness of last year’s car a priority with the design of the new FW38, revealed today.

“It is no secret that the low speed performance of the FW37 didn’t match its high speed performance,” admitted chief technical officer Pat Symonds, “so a lot of time was spent looking into why this was and subsequently making changes, which we hope will improve the situation.”

“On top of this we looked at the normal physical obstacles to development that one always meets during the life of a car and tried to push those barriers back.”

Symonds described the FW38’s predecessor as “a pretty effective car” and said the team “concentrated on understanding the areas where we could improve it without losing the attributes which made it effective”.

Although Williams enjoys stability in its driver line-up, major technical staff and engine supplier, Symonds says there have been some significant changes behind the scenes.

“At Williams we are honest about our mistakes and try to learn from them,” he said. “Just as in the design of the car we always analyse strengths and weaknesses, so we do with the team.”

“This has led to several operational changes for 2016 which, although not particularly visible from the outside, should see the team better able to cope with the many variant scenarios that racing will inevitably throw at them.”

Bolid je već bio i na stazi u Barceloni...filming day..

Čini se, prema vanjskom izgledu, kao prošlogodišnji bolid. Ali, nešto mi tu,..... kako bi rekao, vuče na dobru vibru, s obzirom da nema / da se ne vidi puno vanjskih promjena,..... ovaj bolid bi mogao odnijeti dvije ili više pobjeda u sezoni 2016.-oj.

promjene su uglavnom u detaljima...manji su otvori na bokovima za hlađenje, male promjene na prednjem ovjesu (točnije, pozicije gdje se ovjes hvata na bolid), manji bokovi...ali ništa da odmah na prvi pogled upada u oči.

Williams se nazalost priprema za povratak u sredinu lige. Kada Renault i McLaren iduce sezone prorade kako spada, eto ih opet u sredini.
Ove sezone jos mogu sve zamaskirati, ali iduca ce biti onda bolno prizemljenje. Steta, ali sta je tu je.

Williams appoints Hollinger as non-executive director


The Williams Formula 1 team has appointed American healthcare executive Brad Hollinger as a non-executive director.

Hollinger became the second largest stakeholder in the team behind founder Frank Williams after buying a 10 percent stake previously owned by Mercedes boss Toto Wolff earlier this year.

The American, the chairman and CEO of Vibra Healthcare, joins Nick Rose and Eddie Charlton as the company's third non-executive director.

Hollinger has been appointed for a term of three years, and has been a shareholder in Williams since 2014.

"I'm honoured to be appointed to the Board of one of the world's legendary motorsport teams," Hollinger said.

"I have tremendous faith in the potential of this business – both as a competitive Formula 1 team and diversified Advanced Engineering business.

"It is for this reason that I have invested in Williams over the past two years. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Board to continue growing Williams and help the business fulfil its potential both on and off the race track."

Mike O'Driscoll, Williams group CEO, added: "Brad is extremely knowledgeable about Formula 1 and as a long-time fan of Williams has a tremendous passion for our team.

"His appointment adds to what is a very strong team of Non-Executive Directors who provide the company and our shareholders with the highest standards of leadership and governance."

Massa ide sa starim nosem, a Bottas ce taj put imat novi nos

dva puknuća stražnje lijeve gume na Massinom bolidu...Kravitz je pitao Pat Symmondsa je li to neki problem kod njih ili je problem sa gumama na što je Symmonds rekao da je oba puta popustila felga.


EDIT: Nije problem u felgi kao felgi nego nešto oko kotača (još neznaju točno što) što je oštetilo felgu nakon čega su se gume ispuhale.

neznam nakon kojeg puknuca je ova felga, ali nasao sam video i ako je ta sa videa onda je ta pukotina moguće od udarca felge kad se sa trave vratio poboku nazad na stazu. Ali vidi se da je guma popustila uz rub

ta snimka je prvo puknuće (drugo je bilo taman na početku velikog pravca pa je samo usporio bez neke velike drame). Fotka felge je iz neznam kojeg slučaja

PRoblem je bio u ductovima od kočnica di je felga strugala po tome. Napravili su neke sitne izmjene između Bahreina i Kine
