Michael Schumacher will have a new race engineer at Mercedes next year, according to reports. The French-language Eurosport said the identity of the engineer is Mark Slade, who this year is working alongside Vitaly Petrov at Renault. Slade moved to Renault this year from McLaren, where he worked with famous Finns Heikki Kovalainen, Kimi Raikkonen and Mika Hakkinen. After 15 years with the British team, he left McLaren early this season due to a technical staffing reshuffle. Schumacher's engineer in 2010 is Andy Shovlin, who in 2009 worked at the Brackley based team - then Brawn GP - alongside world champion Jenson Button. It is expected that Shovlin will have a more general engineering role next year.

Schumacher's teammate Nico Rosberg will also have a new race engineer in 2011, having worked this year with Jock Clear. It is expected that Tony Ross, Rosberg's former race engineer at Williams, is switching to Mercedes. Meanwhile, French commentator Jean-Louis Moncet wrote in his latest Auto Plus column that Mercedes GP chiefs Ross Brawn and Norbert Haug will have more distinct roles in 2011. Moncet said he believes team boss Brawn's role will be partially factory-based.

The final race of the 2010 Formula One World Championship takes place at the Yas Marina Circuit on Sunday 14 November. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the home race of Aabar, shareholders in the MERCEDES GP PETRONAS team, is Formula One’s only twilight race with the floodlights at the spectacular 5.5km Yas Marina Circuit allowing the race to start at 17:00hrs.

Ako se dobro sjećam zabranjen je koncept sa točnim parametrima tako, da u principu ne možeš ni napravit ništa osim "obični" difuzor ali nikad se nezna .

The price for customer teams of Mercedes' 2011 specification Formula One Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) has reportedly increased from an original EUR 1 million to 6 million.

Germany's Auto Motor und Sport reports that Formula 1 teams initially agreed that customer supplies of the energy recovery technology next should cost purchasing teams just 1 million Euros.

A further 5 million Euros per team could then be spent on developing the systems.

But instead of receiving 1 million Euro invoices from Mercedes, customer teams McLaren and Force India are reportedly being charged 6 million each.

The report, published on Wednesday, speculated that Force India in particular will not be able to afford the inflated price, in addition to its 9 million Euro bill for Mercedes' 2.4 litre V8 engines.

On the bright side for Mercedes' KERS customers, the German marque believes it can supply a system next year weighing just 21 kilograms, compared to the 25kg system in 2009.

It is believed the other KERS manufacturers, Ferrari, Renault and Williams, are not going to follow Mercedes' lead by increasing the price of their KERS equipment.

Sam Michael, technical director at Williams, is surprised at the reports about high development costs.

"We have estimated the cost of our KERS at half a million pounds (sterling)," said the Australian, "and it will not weigh more than 25 kilograms."

Čisto sumljam da Mercedes ima toliko superiorniji KERS od Ferrari-ja, Ferrari je takođe kao i Mercedes tj. McLaren tokom cijele 2009 koristo KERS i razvijao ga, takođe Ferrari je razvijao KERS i za svoj cestovni program a takođe Ferrari je bio jedan od prvih timova koji je zagovarao povratak KERS-a za 2011 i tim koji je među prvima i objelodanio da će koristiti KERS u 2011.

I svejedno je njihov KERS bio lošiji od Mercedesovog. Čiji je bolji vidjet ćemo tek na početku sezone.

Vidjet ćemo čiji je paket najbolji.
Mislim da Mercedes i ako bude imao neku prednost što se tiče KERS-a da ona neće biti značajna.
Ono što je prednost Mercedesa jeste mercedesov motor a to će biti prednost i svih drugih timova koji će koristiti taj motor. Mercedesov motor je definitivno trenutno najbolji u F1 i to je prednost u startu svih timova koji budu koristili taj motor u narednoj sezoni.
