19. - 22. 01.2009 @Mugello

Day 1 of testing - Mugello - 19th January

Circuit: Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello - 5.245 km
Driver: Kimi Raikkonen
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 8/10 °C, track temperature 8/10 °C. Very cloudy, with rain in the afternoon.

First day of testing for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, working as from today at the Mugello International Circuit. A week after Felipe Massa gave the new Ferrari F60 its debut at this track, today it fell to Kimi Raikkonen to begin the real work of developing the car.

The day was affected by adverse weather conditions, with a wet track all day and rain, occasionally heavy, in the afternoon. Nevertheless, Raikkonen was able to rack up a good mileage, covering a total of 54 laps, the quickest in a time of 1.34.430. There were no technical problems with the car.

Testing continues at this track tomorrow, again with Kimi Raikkonen at the wheel.

Day 2 of testing - Mugello - 20th January

Circuit: Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello - 5.245 km
Driver: Kimi Raikkonen
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 11 °C, track temperature 10 °C. Overcast with occasional rain.

Second day of testing this week for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, working again today at the Mugello International Circuit. Kimi Raikkonen continued with development work on the new Ferrari F60, which he began yesterday.

Once again, the day was affected by bad weather, with the track wet throughout. Kimi was able to cover a total of 42 laps, with a best time of 1.33.920.

"It's always nice to drive a new car for the first time," commented Kimi at the end of the day. "Unfortunately, because of the weather, we were not able to push to the limit, but these things happen. All the same, first impressions are positive and, above all, it's important that we didn't have any particular technical problems."

Testing continues here tomorrow, when Felipe Massa will be on track.

Day 3 of testing - Mugello - 21st January

Circuit: Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello - 5.245 km
Driver: Felipe Massa
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 8/11 °C, track temperature 7/14 °C. Overcast with occasional rain in the morning, permanently damp track.

Third day of testing this week for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, working again today at the Mugello International Circuit. Today, it was Felipe Massa's turn to take to the track, continuing with development work on the new Ferrari F60, begun by Kimi Raikkonen over the past couple of days.

The weather was slightly better than on previous days, but the track remained damp throughout, preventing the use of slick tyres. In total, Felipe completed 104 laps, the quickest in a time of 1.33.353.

Testing continues here tomorrow, again with Felipe Massa on track.

Day 4 of testing - Mugello - 22nd January

Circuit: Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello - 5.245 km
Driver: Felipe Massa
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 8/11 °C, track temperature 7/11 °C. Overcast in the morning, then cloudy.

Fourth and final day of testing this week for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, working again today at the Mugello International Circuit.

Finally, the weather was not too bad today, which meant that, as from late morning, slick tyres could be used. Felipe Massa was thus able to run on a dry track, accumulating a large amount of data which will be analysed over the next few days.

Felipe completed a total of 103 laps, the quickest in a time of 1.23.981. The day's programme ended slightly ahead of schedule, a few minutes before the track was closed, because of a problem linked to the hydraulics.

"I am pleased with the way these past days have gone," commented the Brazilian at the end of the day. "Finally today, we were able to test the car in the dry continuously. First impressions are positive, even if it is obviously too early to say what level we are at, partly because we had no competitors here to compare ourselves with. However, if I was asked to give a verdict on this test, I would score it a strong eight for reliability, given that we have covered over 1500 kilometres. It's true a lot of that was in the wet, but given the conditions experienced in Portimao, I think the decision to come to Mugello was the right one."

PREGLED ZIMSKIH TESTIRANJA - Part II.

11. - 19. 02.2009 @Bahrain

Day 1 of testing - Bahrain - 11th February

Circuit: Bahrain International Circuit - 5.412 km
Driver: Felipe Massa
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 14/27 °C, track temperature 17/35 °C. Sunny, hazy, with fog in the first hours of the morning.

First day of testing this week for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, working as from today at the Sakhir circuit, in Bahrain.

Felipe Massa took to the track today. The Brazilian's programme consisted of working on finding the best set-up in the morning, while the afternoon was given over to a long run test. The Ferrari F60 was in the same aerodynamic configuration as seen in Mugello, at the first test of the season. Felipe completed a total of 98 laps, the quickest in a time of 1.33.615.

Testing continues at this circuit tomorrow, once again with Massa on track.

DAY 1 TIMES:
01. Glock - Toyota - 1:33.501
02. Massa - Ferrari - 1:33.615
03. Kubica - BMW Sauber - 1:33.702

Day 2 of testing - Bahrain - 12th February

Circuit: Bahrain International Circuit - 5.412 km
Driver: Felipe Massa
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 20 °C, track temperature 21 °C. Sunny for the first hour, then wind, bringing a sand and dust storm.

Second day of testing this week for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, working again today at the Sakhir circuit, in Bahrain.

Today's programme was stopped early, less than two hours after the start, because of a sandstorm hitting Bahrain, which meant it was impossible for the medical helicopter to fly, in the event of an emergency. Up to that point, Felipe Massa had covered 17 laps, the quickest in a time of 1.33.639.

Testing continues at this circuit tomorrow, when Kimi Raikkonen will be driving.

DAY 2 TIMES:
01. Massa - Ferrari - 1:33.639
02. Kubica - BMW Sauber - 1:34.398
03. Glock - Toyota - 1:34.902

The weather conditions at the Sakhir circuit, hit by a sandstorm in the morning, did not improve and the three teams, in Bahrain for a long test session - Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, BMW and Toyota - had to stay in the garage. Therefore today's time sheet remained unchanged, with Felipe Massa's fastest lap (1.33.639) in the morning, ahead of Kubica (1.34.398) and Glock (1.34.902). The three drove a mere 53 laps: Felipe 17, Robert 22 and Timo 14.

"Obviously it's slightly frustrating that we could hardly drive today, due to the wind and the sand. But there's nothing we can do about it. We just have to accept it," Felipe said in the afternoon. "Although I have to say I'm quite satisfied with the work done so far here at Sakhir. Yesterday we drove many kilometres and the car was better than at Mugello, more stable and easier to drive, with constant lap times. The Team has been working very hard over the last weeks as far as the setup is concerned and we could already see the results. After a minor problem with the software yesterday, today, at least for the laps we did, we were able to use the KERS as we should. There's still a lot of work to do here and in other areas, but I think that we're heading in the right direction."

After last nights match in London, where Brazil won against Italy 2:0 Felipe, an avid football fan, said: "I was lucky and I could watch the match. You can't miss Italy playing Brazil. I was very happy that my team made it, especially after some not very good matches. They showed that they still have a great fighting spirit. Thanks to the result I had a good day today with the members of the Team. If we had lost than I would have heard many jokes for sure. But instead it was me cracking the jokes."

Tomorrow Felipe will hand over the F60's wheel to Kimi Raikkonen, who'll arrive at Bahrain this afternoon.

Day 3 of testing - Bahrain - 13th February

The weather conditions at Bahrain didn't change for the whole day and the visibility in the capital Manama was extremely scarce and the helicopter for medical assistance in case of emergency at the track could not start. The Sakhir circuit remained in silence and the three teams - Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, BMW and Toyota - participating in these test sessions remained at the box.

Another extremely precious test day has been lost. There are just over twelve test days left before the start of the 2009 Championship. Tomorrow the Scuderia has planned the test session with Kimi Raikkonen behind the wheel, but it is still not clear what the weather will be like. The forecast is not very optimistic.

Day 4 of testing - Bahrain - 14th February

Circuit: Bahrain International Circuit - 5.412 km
Driver: Kimi Raikkonen
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 16/21 °C, track temperature 16/29 °C. Sunny with hazy skies.

After two days affected by poor visibility, finally the weather in Bahrain improved enough so that this day of testing could proceed as normal. Therefore, Kimi Raikkonen, who was unable to do anything at all yesterday, managed to get his first run in the Ferrari F60 on a dry track, even if it was still very dirty because of a covering of sand in the first hours of the morning. Kimi concentrated mainly on finding the best set-up for the car and covered a total of 105 laps, setting a best time of 1.33.350. The only hiccough on the day was down to an hydraulic problem which occurred shortly after 3 pm and was then fixed.

The Scuderia will resume testing at this circuit on Monday 16th February, again with Kimi Raikkonen on track.

DAY 4 TIMES:
01. Raikkonen - Ferrari - 1:33.325
02. Trulli - Toyota - 1:33.429
03. Klien - BMW Sauber - 1:33.666

In January at Mugello it was the rain and yesterday here in Sakhir it was the sand preventing Kimi Raikkonen to drive the new Ferrari F60 on a dry track. But finally today, when the weather conditions improved and the wind stopped blowing sand all over the place, Kimi was there. Although it has to be said that the track was not in perfect condition in the morning, but after two hours of driving the lap times started to drop. All in all it was possible to do some serious work. "The track was very slippery in the morning, due to the sand, but we managed to go ahead with our programme," Kimi said at the end of the day. "It's a pity for the time we lost over the last days, but it didn't depend on us. This happens and you just have to accept it. My first day with the new F60 on a dry track was extremely positive. I immediately had a good feeling although it's still too early to say where we are compared to our competitors. The car is improving and there are no especially critical areas. We used the KERS also today and I'm happy with how it works, apart from some minor childhood disease."

Day 5 of testing - Bahrain - 15th February

Circuit: Bahrain International Circuit - 5.412 km
Driver: Kimi Raikkonen
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 19/28 °C, track temperature 20/35 °C. Sunny with hazy skies.

This morning at Sakhir, Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro resumed testing, following on from last week's session at this circuit, when it ran alongside BMW and Toyota.

Kimi Raikkonen was back behind the wheel of the Ferrari F60, to continue with development of the car. Kimi worked mainly on assessing different set-up configurations, on a comparison of the different types of Bridgestone tyre available, including over long runs and on overall reliability. The day ended with a few practice starts from the grid.

The day in figures is as follows: 116 laps for Kimi, the quickest in a time of 1.32.804.

The Scuderia continues testing at this circuit tomorrow, again with the Finnish driver on track.

DAY 5 TIMES:
01. Klien - BMW Sauber - 1:32.544
02. Raikkonen - Ferrari - 1:32.804
03. Trulli - Toyota - 1:33.064

Today the Finn had an extensive programme, where he worked on the different set ups for the single-seater, the development of several mechanical and aerodynamic components and compared the different Bridgestone tyres driving long stints. "It was a very intense day," Kimi said at the end of the day, before he went to the engineers for a briefing. "We tried to make up the time we lost last week, although in the morning we had some minor problems which slowed us down a bit. I'm satisfied with how things went. The car reacts very well to our set ups and confirms to deliver a constant performance on the long run. Let's hope the weather remains like this so we can drive many more kilometres until the end of this session."

Day 6 of testing - Bahrain - 16th February

Circuit: Bahrain International Circuit - 5.412 km
Driver: Kimi Raikkonen
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 20/29 °C, track temperature 21/35 °C. Sunny, hazy skies in the morning, then overcast in the afternoon.

Once again today at Sakhir, Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro continued with the test session that began at this track last week, alongside BMW and Toyota.

On Kimi Raikkonen's programme was evaluation of various set up options on the Ferrari F60, of the Bridgestone tyres available and on development of new components. A problem with the cooling element of the energy recovery system, shortly after 11.30, delayed the proramme as it lead to a three hour stop. Once it was fixed Kimi concentrated on long runs interspersed with pit stops. Yet again the day ended with practice starts on the grid.

The day in figures is as follows: 107 laps completed by Kimi, the quickest in a time of 1.32.102.

The Scuderia continues testing at this circuit tomorrow, when Felipe Massa will return to the track.

DAY 6 TIMES:
01. Raikkonen - Ferrari - 1:32.102
02. Trulli - Toyota - 1:32.230
03. Heidfeld - BMW Sauber - 1:32.585

Kimi Raikkonen's last day of testing at the Sakhir circuit in Bahrain was extremely troubled. At the start everything seemed to go well, when he did several stints to check the different set ups. Just after 11:30am the car started to have a problem with the KERS' cooling circuit and the Finnish driver had to come to the box. Until then Kimi had driven 40 laps, the fastest in a time of 1.33.108.

The stop to repair the KERS took more than three hours: just after 3pm - the first lap was driven at 3:20pm - Kimi came back on the track. Nevertheless there was one positive aspect, as the Team was able to experiment with an emergency in case of a KERS failure. During the winter break lots of analytic work was done and the Team has been profoundly trained as far as the KERS is concerned. This knowledge could be used today. The Team followed all procedures in a rigorous and precise way, but especially under absolute safety. Obviously Kimi and everybody else at the Ferrari box at Sakhir and at the Gestione Sportiva in Maranello would have preferred to stay out on the track, but this unexpected incident was a useful experience for the future.

Just after the car was back on the track another unexpected event occurred: two dogs decided to go for a walk on the track and the stewards had to get out the red flag until the dogs were caught. The last part of the day Kimi dedicated to race simulations with a series of quite long stints and pit stops with refuelling. Like yesterday also today the session ended with start simulations from the grid.

The Finn from Ferrari was the fastest on the track. Kimi drove his fastest lap in a time of 1.32.108, followed by Trulli (Toyota) in 1.32.230 and Klien (BMW), third in 1.32.585. Meanwhile the Italian Trulli drove more laps than his colleagues (149), while Kimi, despite the KERS problem, drove 107, three more than Heidfeld.

"Until today the car's development went well, although we were mainly concentrating on its behaviour and the tyres," Kimi said at the end of the day. "Today we had a problem with the cooling system of the KERS, but these things can happen during the tests. Anyway we drove many laps. The whole car improved during these tests, but it's still too early to say where we are compared to our competitors. I think we have to wait until Melbourne for that. Today was the first time I could get close to a car in front of me; but I wasn't close enough to understand if the new aerodynamics really make overtaking easier."

The Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro will proceed its tests tomorrow with Felipe Massa.

Day 7 of testing - Bahrain - 17th February

Circuit: Bahrain International Circuit - 5.412 km
Driver: Felipe Massa
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 20/22 °C, track temperature 21/29 °C. Sunny, with hazy skies and windy.

Penultimate day of testing for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro at the Sakhir circuit in Bahrain.

Today, Felipe Massa was back at the wheel of the Ferrari F60. The Brazilian driver's programme consisted of evaluating various set-up options in the morning and a race simulation in the afternoon. Proceedings were delayed by a gearbox problem early in the day and an electrical one towards the end, the latter resulting in the car stopping out on track. Nevertheless, the Grand Prix simulation was completed successfully.

The day in figures is as follows: 105 laps completed by Felipe, the quickest in a time of 1.32.917.

Testing at this circuit comes to an end tomorrow, when Felipe will once again be on track.

DAY 7 TIMES:
01. Glock - Toyota - 1:32.492
02. Massa - Ferrari - 1:32.917
03. Heidfeld - BMW Sauber - 1:32.993

The morning wasn't born under a lucky star. After the first lap with timekeeping Felipe Massa, back behind the wheel of the Ferrari F60, had to come back to the box, due to a problem with the gearbox, fitted with several experimental components. The gearbox was replaced and the Brazilian went back on the track just before 11am, testing some set up solutions with the race simulations ahead in the afternoon.

The endurance test was the most satisfying part of the day. Felipe completed four runs with 15 laps each, with pit stops for refuelling. At the end of the day Massa went back on the track for a last time to verify the car's set up, but due to an electronic problem on the first lap he had to stop and the F60 was brought back to the box with the breakdown lorry. Also on this occasion the safety procedures went into effect: the mechanics close to the car wore their protective suits to prevent possible electric shocks.

The strong wind on the track didn't stop all day, which made the track much slower, as seen in today's lap times by the three drivers on the track: the fastest driver was Timo Glock (Toyota) with a lap time of 1.32.492, followed by Felipe (1.32.917) and Nick Heidfeld (BMW) in 1.32.993. The unintentional protagonist of the final race in 2008 in Brazil was the one who drove more laps than anybody else: 132 laps by Glock, 105 by Felipe and 82 by Heidfeld.

"We're coming close to the end of this long test session here in Bahrain and the days are more and more intense," Aldo Costa, Technical Director of the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, said. "We have to exploit what the rules permit in terms of tests, as far as reliability, development and research in terms of performance are concerned. There might be some problems ahead, like the ones we've had over the two days with the completely new components of the KERS or with experiments, like the ones we had on the gearbox this morning. As far as the KERS is concerned I have to say that we're quite satisfied with what we've seen so far, although there's still lots of work to do. We used a standard configuration for the aerodynamics here in Bahrain, with just some minor updates: the complete one we'll see at the next tests in Jerez and Barcelona, where we will conclude our preparation for the Australian GP."

Day 8 of testing - Bahrain - 18th February

Circuit: Bahrain International Circuit - 5.412 km
Driver: Felipe Massa
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 19/25 °C, track temperature 20/31 °C. Sunny and very windy.

Today saw the conclusion of this test session at the Sakhir Circuit in Bahrain, where the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro was testing alongside BMW Sauber and Toyota.

The task of bringing the programme to a close fell to Felipe Massa. The Brazilian driver worked in great detail on various set-up options on the Ferrari F60, on experimenting with several aerodynamic solutions, as well as continuing with reliability work on both engine and gearbox. Apart from a few minor glitches, the most serious problem occurred at the start of the day when a faulty cable left Felipe stranded at the side of the track. However, the bulk of the planned workload was completed.

The day in figures was as follows: 113 laps completed by Felipe, the quickest in a time of 1:32.162.

DAY 8 TIMES:
01. Massa - Ferrari - 1:32.162
02. Heidfeld - BMW Sauber - 1:32.225
03. Glock - Toyota - 1:32.445

Massa: "Today was a good day, apart from some minor problems, which held us up a bit. We have to work on that to avoid that they come back. And the strong wind bothered us a bit. We drove many kilometres to improve the car and I think that we're heading in the right direction. We've seen during these days that there's a great balance, not just between the three team on this track, but also with the others. We're at the start of the season and now we have to wait and see who will take the biggest step until the first race starts. We'll know much more at Melbourne. It was a pity that we lost almost two entire days here last week because of the sandstorm. But I think that all in all we were able to make up the lost time. I'm convinced that the decision to come to Bahrain for this long test session was very good."

Meanwhile the Sakhir circuit seems to have become the preferred spot for the straying dogs of Bahrain. In the afternoon a couple of dogs went out on the track and it might have been the one from yesterday. Today the stewards didn't get out the red flags, but warned the drivers with the yellow flags to pay attention so the session was not interrupted.

During these tests the Ferrari F60 drove 3,580 kilometres, while each of the two official Ferrari drivers was responsible for half of it: Kimi drove 1,784 and Felipe 1,796. The fastest man from Ferrari was the Finn last Tuesday with a lap time of 1.32.102. The other six drivers couldn't do it any faster (apart from Felipe there were also Trulli and Glock for Toyota, Heidfeld, Kubica and Klien for BMW Sauber). With today's lap time Felipe comes very close to his teammate: The Brazilian was a mere 60 tenths of a second slower than the Finn. A race simulation was carried out with each of the two drivers. The engine underwent an endurance test at Sakhir, while also the one by the Scuderia Toro Rosso in Jerez has to be added. Numerous data has been collected here in Bahrain: now the technicians have to analyse them to understand how to improve performance and reliability with the last tests coming up - which will be held at Jerez de la Frontera and Barcelona in early March. This will be the last opportunity to test the single-seater before the start of the 2009 Championships.

01. - 05. 03.2009 @Jerez

Day 1 of testing - Jerez - 1st March

Circuit: Jerez circuit - 4.423 km
Driver: Felipe Massa
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 15/18 °C, track temperature 15/19 °C. From cloudy to overcast, with a few drops of rain in the afternoon and bursts of sunshine at the end of the day.

First of five days of testing this week for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, working at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit, in southern Spain.

Felipe Massa gave the Ferrari F60 its debut at this track. The Brazilian driver worked on finding the best set-up on the car and on reliability testing. By the end of the day, Felipe had covered 63 laps, the quickest in a time of 1.20.330. The work schedule was interrupted by several red flag stoppages, as well as a long break, shortly after midday, following an off-track excursion, although the car was not damaged.

Testing at this track continues tomorrow, again with Massa on track.

DAY 1 TIMES:
01. Vettel - Red Bull - 1:19.055
02. Massa - Ferrari - 1:20.330
03. Kobayashi - Toyota - 1:20.699
04. Rosberg - Williams - 1:21.171
05. Kubica - BMW Sauber - 1:21.292
06. Fisichella - Force India - 1:21.584
07. de la Rosa - Mclaren - 1:21.831
08. Piquet - Renault - 1:22.011

The Ferrari F60 debuted at the Jerez circuit this morning at 9:01am when Felipe Massa drove the installation lap, opening the fourth and penultimate test session for the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro before the 2009 season starts.

The car from Maranello sports some modification as far as the body is concerned, especially visible in the area of the exhaust. The Team's work will be carried out on the basis what could have been seen at Bahrain: set up work in the morning with a run of 6/8 laps and endurance tests in the afternoon.

The day started very well with a fast Felipe driving quite a few kilometres. The only problem was a small off-track experience in corner no. 3 where the single-seater picked up some sand. Nothing happened to the car, but the mechanics had to clean it from gravel stuck to the underbody. Up to that point the Brazilian had driven 41 laps. There are eight teams present here at Jerez for this test session, amongst them also Force India, debuting with the new car: now only Toro Rosso and the ex-Honda team are missing; they will appear for the first time in the upcoming week with a still unknown name. As usual it's quite difficult to estimate the performances, because some teams are already testing the Bridgestone tyres for 2010.

Day 2 of testing - Jerez - 2nd March

Today was the day the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro had chosen to test the Bridgestone tyres for 2010, but they didn't bargain on the weather conditions. It seems as if this year the clouds follow the teams around the globe for their test sessions in 2009 and also here at Jerez there was quite some rain in the end. The single-seater's shakedown had to be move because of snow, then there was rain at Mugello, followed by sandstorms in Bahrain and now the water is back here in Andalusia: just over the last laps the regular wet tyres were suited for the track. Therefore the Ferrari F60 could "relax" at the box of the Scuderia for the whole day, waiting for better weather, which didn't come today.

Meanwhile the other seven teams present here at Jerez drove numerous laps to collect data for the cars' reliabilities and the setup for the new cars on wet tracks.

The Scuderia's tests will proceed at the track tomorrow, again with Felipe Massa behind the wheel.

DAY 2 TIMES:
01. Glock - Toyota - 1:30.979
02. Kubica - BMW Sauber - 1:31.327
03. Rosberg - Williams - 1:31.451
04. Fisichella - Force India - 1:31.547
05. Vettel - Red Bull - 1:32.220
06. Kovalainen - Mclaren - 1:33.371
07. Piquet - Renault - 1:33.476

Day 3 of testing - Jerez - 3rd March

Circuit: Jerez circuit - 4.423 km
Driver: Felipe Massa
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 12/21 °C, track temperature 12/23 °C. Overcast with a damp track in the morning, then cloudy with dry tarmac.

Third day of testing for eight Formula 1 teams at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit, in southern Spain.

After yesterday's time-out, when rain prevented the planned use of Bridgestone's 2010 tyres, Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro was back on track this morning, again with Felipe Massa at the wheel of the F60.

The Brazilian driver worked on set-up and reliability of the car over long distance, both in the wet and in the dry. Felipe completed a total of 135 laps, the quickest in a time of 1.20.238.

Testing at this track continues tomorrow, when Kimi Raikkonen will be on track.

DAY 3 TIMES:
01. Glock - Toyota - 1:19.814
02. Massa - Ferrari - 1:20.238
03. Alonso - Renault - 1:20.296
04. Kovalainen - Mclaren - 1:20.535
05. Sutil - Force India - 1:20.621
06. Webber - Red Bull - 1:21.021
07. Kubica - BMW Sauber - 1:21.069
08. Rosberg - Williams - 1:21.412

The third out of five test days at the Jerez circuit started without rain, but still with a wet track. The sky opened up and the sun came out. After around 90 minutes the session had been started the cars could be fitted with the tyres for a dry track.

Felipe Massa was back on the track after the compulsory stop yesterday and immediately started with long runs, first with the heavy wet tyres, then with the standard wet tyres and in the end with those for a dry track. The Brazilian driver had two minor difficulties today: in corner 1 he went off the track, when the tarmac was still extremely wet. Later on there was a problem with the electronics and the technicians had to work on the car for a quite a while. Once the problem had been resolved Felipe went back on the track and drove his laps without further interruptions, simulating a race with pit stops.

Just after 1pm an appreciated guest turned up at the box of the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro: Michael Schumacher. The seven-time world champion is here to follow the Team's preparations for the upcoming championship and will stay in Jerez until tomorrow.

Day 4 of testing - Jerez - 4th March

Circuit: Jerez circuit - 4.423 km
Driver: Kimi Raikkonen
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 12/21 °C, track temperature 12/23 °C. Overcast with a damp track in the morning, then cloudy with dry tarmac.

Kimi Raikkonen took to the track for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro on this fourth day of a five day test session, featuring eight teams at the Jerez circuit. The Finn began lapping early in the day, when the skies were overcast and a gusty wind was blowing. After the lunchbreak, there was a problem with the hydraulic system that took the mechanics quite a while to fix. Once it was sorted, Kimi went back on track, doing four runs and a pit stop practice. Michael Schumacher arrived in Jerez yesterday and again today, he watched the session from the garage.

Kimi Raikkonen will be on track for the Scuderia again tomorrow.

DAY 4 TIMES:
01. Alonso - Renault - 1:19.945
02. Raikkonen - Ferrari - 1:20.250
03. Heidfeld - BMW Sauber - 1:20.520
04. Trulli - Toyota - 1:20.540
05. Webber - Red Bull - 1:20.894
06. Nakajima - Williams - 1:20.948
07. Hamilton - Mclaren - 1:21.302
08. Sutil - Force India - 1:21.411

Day 5 of testing - Jerez - 5th March

Circuit: Jerez circuit - 4.423 km
Driver: Kimi Raikkonen
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 12/21 °C, track temperature 12/23 °C. Cloudy with rain and strong gusts of wind.

The fifth and final day of testing was also affected by the weather, as it was cloudy, with occasional rain and strong gusts of wind. Air temperatures ranged from 15 to 20 Centigrade, while the track went from 14 to 23. Five other teams ran alongside Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro - BMW, Toyota, McLaren, Williams and Red Bull.

The team worked on engine and gearbox reliability, evaluated tyres and development of some aerodynamic components, as well as carrying out some practice pit stops, including refuelling. "Today, we were able to compare various set-ups aimed at the tyres," commented Kimi after the test. "One of the novelties for this year, compared to last season is that I have a good feeling on the slick tyres. I think the teams all seem very closely matched and this makes me think that the coming season will be particularly close."

Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro resumes testing again at the Barcelona circuit, from 9 to 12 March.

DAY 5 TIMES:
01. Heidfeld - BMW Sauber - 1:20.052
02. Raikkonen - Ferrari - 1:20.404
03. Hamilton - Mclaren - 1:21.272
04. Webber - Red Bull - 1:22.219
05. Nakajima - Williams - 1:22.226

09. - 12. 03.2009 @Catalunya

Day 1 of testing - Barcelona - 9th March

Circuit: Circuit de Catalunya - 4.655 km
Driver: Kimi Raikkonen
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 10/17 °C, track temperature 11/24 °C. Overcast in the morning, then cloudy with a few sunny spells.

Today saw Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro initiate its final test session at the Catalunya Circuit, near Barcelona, prior to the start of the World Championship season. Kimi Raikkonen was tasked with taking the controls of the Ferrari F60, alongside nine other teams testing here - the first time this year that all the teams have been present at the same time.

The Finnish driver worked on finding the best set-up for the car, on reliability and on a comparison between various aerodynamic solutions. Kimi covered a total of 81 laps, the quickest in a time of 1:20.908.

Testing continues at this circuit tomorrow, again with Kimi Raikkonen on track.

DAY 1 TIMES:

Second day of testing for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro at the Catalunya Circuit, near Barcelona.

Once again it was Kimi Raikkonen who was on track today and his planned programme consisted of a comparison of various set-up options at the start of the day, followed by Grand Prix weekend simulation (qualifying and race.) Unfortunately, the simulation came to a premature end, because of a problem with the KERS cooling system. Up to that point, Kimi had completed 55 laps, the quickest in a time of 1.20.314, which nevertheless turned out to be the fastest lap of the day.

The Scuderia continues testing at this circuit tomorrow, with Felipe Massa on track.

DAY 2 TIMES:
01. Raikkonen - Ferrari - 1:20.314
02. Nakajima - Williams - 1:20.907

Day 3 of testing - Barcelona - 11th March

Circuit: Circuit de Catalunya - 4.655 km
Driver: Felipe Massa
Car: Ferrari F60
Weather: Air temperature 10/16 °C, track temperature 11/21 °C. Cloudy.

After another difficult morning the rest of the day went very well for the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, busy at the penultimate day with the preparations for the Championship's start at Melbourne. Felipe Massa, sitting today behind the wheel of the Ferrari F60 after Kimi Raikkonen tested over the last two days, compared different setup options in the morning and conducted a real race weekend simulation, with qualifying, race and pit stops.

The day didn't start very well. During Massa's first run he had to stop next to the track, due to a hydraulic problem. The reparation work took until noon and the Team immediately started with the simulation of the three qualifying sessions. But this part also didn't go smoothly, although this time it wasn't the Scuderia's fault. The red flag (Buemi) prevented the Team from completing the qualifying. After the lunch break Felipe started the race simulation and completed it successfully, in contrast to Kimi's attempt yesterday. Felipe drove 109 laps, the best in a time of 1.20.168, the second fastest time of the day, just behind the surprisingly fast Brawn GP with Jenson Button.

The Scuderia's winter tests will end tomorrow on this track, again with Felipe Massa behind the wheel.

DAY 3 TIMES:
01. Button - Brawn - 1:19.127
02. Massa - Ferrari - 1:20.168

definitivni i vrabcima pored staze!!! [-X
