Ferrari already working flat-out on 2012 Formula 1 challenger
Ferrari is now working flat-out on the development of what it claims is a 'very innovative' 2012 car, even though it still holds out some hope that it can haul itself back into this year's championship fight.

Fernando Alonso's recent run of good form, which included victory in the British Grand Prix, has put him 89 points behind championship leader Sebastian Vettel - and his only realistic hope of closing that gap down dramatically is if his Red Bull rival hits some trouble.

Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali says his team's approach right now is on simply trying to win each grand prix, and then in a few race's time the outfit can take a better look to see if there is still a chance of the title.

Meanwhile, he openly admits that the real effort at Maranello is on delivering a much more aggressive car design for next year, having realised the team was too conservative this season.

"Our realistic goal for the remaining eight grands prix is to win races, to score as many points as possible," Domenicali told the official Ferrari website. "I am sure we can achieve good results, but we should avoid looking at the classification, because we know the championship will be very difficult given the current gap, but let's see where it is in a few races. We have the potential to do well and we have to believe in ourselves.

"In terms of the development of the 150º Italia, we are almost at the end of the road but this does not mean that work on this year's car has come to a complete halt, but as of now, we are working full throttle on the 2012 car.

"As far as next year's regulations are concerned, apart from rules regarding the exhaust system, there are not many changes; therefore the new cars can be described as a development of the 2011 car. However, what I can say, having seen the model in the wind tunnel and the work going on in the drawing office, is that it will be a very innovative machine.

"In fact, this is to be expected, this is necessary given that our first goal is that, in 2012, we must be competitive right from the very start of the season."

Pat Fry: “We are disappointed both with the places from which our drivers will line up on the grid and with the gap to the quickest. It’s true that in Q3 we encountered the conditions least suited to us: a damp but drying track, with rather low temperatures. We have already seen this before: in similar situations we lose a lot compared to the other top teams, because we cannot get the tyres up to temperature. It is our car’s Achilles Heel and we still haven’t fixed it and today it caused us even more of a problem than we could have expected. We should not use it as an excuse, but as a further impetus to solve the problem. The team worked very well during the session, especially in the first part, when it was important to manage operations and the strategy as well as possible with track conditions changing all the time. Tomorrow’s race should be very interesting: no one can say for certain how the tyres will work in the dry, especially in terms of degradation and tomorrow no rain is forecast for the early afternoon. On Sunday, we will try and make up the ground we have lost on Saturday.”
Stefano Domenicali: “We are definitely disappointed with a result that does not match our expectations. We managed to get through the first two sessions in the wet in one piece but then, onc we switched to the dry tyres, the chronic problem that has characterised our season was clear to see, even more so here than elsewhere, namely the difficult in getting the tyres to work well in low temperatures and on a damp track. On top of that, there was traffic to contend with, which created further problems for Fernando, who was definitely penalised by it. Tomorrow’s race should take place in the dry and I think that for everyone, this will be a little bit of a step into the unknown, because it has not been possible to gather much data on the tyre degradation. We will try to reaffirm the positive aspects of our season, which means the characteristic of having a better pace in the race than in qualifying. I am convinced that we are still in with a good chance of bringing home a good result.”

Zašto Alonsa nisu zvali u box?
Ovo bi mogao da bude još jedan Ferrarijev pit wall fijasko.

Tuzno je ovo gledati.Fernando(i Schummy) najbrzi danas.Sekundu najmaanje sporiji po krugu na medium..Ferrari je kanta upravo..sramota od bolida.

Vazda čekaju da drugi nešto urade pa oni reaguju sa strategijom. Treba Buttona dovest u Ferrari da bude strateg :)

Ma strategija nije bila problem, sami su znali kakvo ih sranje ceka na MED komponenti i pokušali su to što više odgoditi.
Da nije bilo SC vjerujem da bi išli na jedan stint na soft gumama više

Massa - 4 kvale = 8 utrka


Mene zanima, zasto su Massi stavili zadnji puta tvrde gume, kada ih je imao dva kruga ranije?

Još jedan set softa pa da zaglave u prometu zbog SC? Svejedno bi morali na MED komponentu ali bi izgubili 20 sec zbog pita

Jedino moguce je napravljeno. SC je uništio utrku.

taj dodatni ulazak u box mu je upropastio utrku...nakraju je i to osmo mjesto uspjeh..ali sveukupno gledano totalno razocaravajuca utrka za Ferrari danas :/

Čim je izašao SC znao sam da nema ništa od dobrog rezultata.
Ne znam zašto nisu pozvali Fernanda u box po set soft guma kada je izašao SC, u Spa se može preticati, trebali su pretpostaviti da medium gume slabo rade na Ferrariu i još kada se uzmu u obzir niske temperature koje su na Spa, trebali su što manje krugova planirat da odvezu na medium gumama.

Imali su 2 opcije,kod SC odmah u box za Vettelom

Druga opcija koja bi bila bolja da su išli 2.stint puno ranije u box i onda pred sami kraj na med gume

Alonso je bio najbrži na soft gumama i mogao je stvarati prednost.
...put u raj nije posut ružama...

Da je ušao u box kad i Vettel možda ne bi bio odma iza Vettela posle izlaska iz box-a ali sigurno ne bi bio ni zadnji a na novim soft gumama već u prvom krugu posle ulaska SC u box prestizao bi ove sporije bolide koji bi se našli ispred njega bez problema, u SPA je to moguće a Ferrari je imao brizinu, naravno kada su u pitanju soft gume a na medum gumama Ferrari se ponašao kao da voze na felgama. :roll:

Ma izašao bi odmah iza Vettela,bio je svega 5 sec iza njega u trenutku kad je SC izašao

A i čuli smo preko radia kako mu trkaći inžinjer govori da strategija nije problem.Zanimljivo bi bilo čuti šta mu je Alonso prije toga rekao,vjerovatno se i on čudio zašto ga nisu pozvali u box
...put u raj nije posut ružama...
