Ne kužim što ovime hoće dobiti. SIde podsi su ogromni, nema onih bočnih vertikalnih krilca (ne znam kako se to zove), stražnjica mu je također ogromna

13.02.2014 - Hinwil, 14th February 2014 - The Sauber F1 Team is pleased to announce that Simona De Silvestro will become an affiliated driver.
The 25-year-old Swiss left for the US when she was just 18 to drive in the Formula BMW USA series in 2006 and the Atlantic Championship from 2007 to 2009. Over the past four years De Silvestro has been driving in the IndyCar Series. She won the prestigious Indy 500 “Rookie of the Year” Award in 2010 and became the first woman to earn a podium finish on a street circuit in IndyCar.
This year she is taking the next step in her career by joining a preparation programme with the Sauber F1 Team, with the goal to gain her super licence and prepare for a race seat in Formula One for 2015. The programme will include on track testing, simulator training, as well as mental and physical preparation.
Monisha Kaltenborn, Team Principal:
“After four years in IndyCar, Simona’s ambition is to enter Formula one in 2015. We regard her as a very talented race driver, and we, therefore, decided to take her on board as an “affiliated driver” and support her on her way to the pinnacle of motorsport.”
Simona De Silvestro:
“This is a major step towards me achieving a life-long dream and I’m so happy to have the opportunity to take this step with such a great team. The Sauber F1 Team is a team with a legacy and the only Swiss team in Formula One, which I think makes this even more exciting. I can't thank Monisha Kaltenborn and Peter Sauber enough for their support and belief in my abilities and for giving me this chance. I’m thrilled to have this extremely unique platform on which to prepare myself to take on the challenge.”

Among the many updates, Sauber have probably introduced the most comprehensive upgrade package of the entire field in Spain with a long awaited upgrade that is set to get the car down to the minimum weight limit. Word has it that the team's update reduces the car's entire weight by around 15kg, making sure that with Gutierrez behind the wheel, the car is now no longer overweight. For Adrian Sutil however that is still far from the case as the German is approximately 10kg heavier than his Mexican counterpart.
The team have been saying their first spec was a baseline and soon admitted it was considerably overweight. The team's limited budget however did not allow for faster development. As of the Spanish GP however, the team has repackaged the cooling system, although judging from the bulge on top of the sidepod, still with vertical cooling radiators. The result are considerably smaller sidepods with cooling inlets of a reduce size.
Along with these, the aerodynamic appendages on the floor, just behind the trailing edge of the sidepod have also changed. These will help control airflow at the edge of the car's floor and underneath it, attempting to get more rear downforce. Ahead of the rear wheels, two tiny vertical panels have also been added, a feature similar to Red Bull's design on the RB9 and aimed at managing tyre squirt.

After conducting some running in Fiorano back in April, former Indycar driver, Simona de Silvestro completed another series of running, this time in Valencia.
The test sessions took place from Wednesday until Friday. The Swiss driver completed 313 laps altogether. Due to strict restrictions however, Sauber had to bring out its Sauber C31, a two-year-old V8 powered car.
Test engineer Paul Russel was delighted with the way how the ploy in Spain went. “We continued where we ended it in Fiorano.” They had been working on qualifying-simulations on Friday morning which proved to be useful for Simona to try and get a feeling how to make the most out of the tyres over one lap.
“In the afternoon we tried out a few setups, then we conducted some longer runs on different fuel loads, while we concentrated on race pace and tyre management.” – said Russel.
Simona was happy about the opportunity and had felt comfortable inside the car. “I think the three days were pretty good, I could collect lots of milages and try different things to get a good feeling for the car. I feel like at home in the cockpit which is just great!”
Sauber plans another test for de Silvestro for August.
